gdc-4.8 software package provides GNU D compiler (version 2), based on the GCC backend, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gdc-4.8
gdc-4.8 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gdc-4.8 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gdc-4.8 *
You will get with gdc-4.8 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
